Capt. Jim is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed and insured fishing guide. He has been a FULL-TIME professionally fishing guide since 2007 out of Clearwater, Florida. He grew fishing the exact waters he charter fishes today.
He prides himself on being the best at what he does in the area. 300+ days on the water a year has led to more than 100,000 dollars in local fishing tournament winnings. Capt. Jim is always aware of the current conditions and patterns of local game fish. With over 30 years of fishing & boating experience in the Tampa Bay Area, capt Jim has learned from some of the best.
When he gets some time off during the slower months he travels around the world… fishing. Spending a lot of time targeting big yellowfin in Louisiana, swordfish in south Florida, marlin in Costa Rica…and everywhere in between. Gaining knowledge and learning new techniques to make him a better guide.

I run our fishing charters from a 26 Gause Built custom tower boat built locally in Tarpon Springs, Florida. This boat drafts 10 inches of water, has a 50 gallon live-well, and it can carry tons of live bait for a full day of fishing. Garmin electronics, twin power poles and an 87’ minn Kota trolling motor let’s you sneak up on the fish on the flats or hold you in one spot off the beach. This is a custom made boat for the shallow waters of Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Tampa Bay and Boca Grande. The tower allows me to spot fish from above and give you the advantage at sneaking up on your next trophy catch!
MOTOR
The back of my 26 Gause is equipped with a brand new 300 horsepower Mercury V8. This is the perfect combination for the waters of Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, Tampa Bay and Boca Grande.
BOAT #2 – 24 Carolina Skiff
For other charters, I run a 24ft Carolina Skiff powered by a 150 mercury. Twin power poles, Garmin electronics and minn Kota trolling motor. This boat holds 500lbs of ice and comes in handy during gator season.
